Just a short postscript to Colm's very informative entry: the first new Justice to be appointed to the Court was Lord Clarke of Stone-cum-Ebony (great name!), the former Master of the Rolls. It seems that Supreme Court Justices will also be given life peerages, and will become non-voting members of the (legislative) House of Lords, so it seems permissible still to speak of "the Law Lords". I would have been sad to see the phrase consigned to history...
