Chinese tort law expert visits Institute
The Chinese tort scholar Zhu Yan is visiting the Institute for two months in January and February 2010. Professor Zhu has been Associate Professor in Law at Renmin University of China (previously known as People’s University of China) since 2006. The Renmin University Law School is widely regarded as one of China’s finest. Professor Zhu previously completed his doctorate at the University of Bremen (2003) and pursued post-doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.
His recent research has focused on the new codification of Chinese tort law, which was approved by the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress in December 2009 and will come into effect in July 2010.
