Olaf Riss is professor at the Institute for Civil Law at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. Apart from that, he teaches at the University of Krems and holds exam preparation courses for candidate notaries at the Notarial Academy. From 2015 until 2016 he was admitted to the Bar of Vienna as attorney at law. Olaf has been working at the Institute of Civil Law at the University of Vienna and also as consultant at the Institute of European Tort Law of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His scientific work has been referred to frequently by the Austrian jurisprudence (in particular by the Supreme Court) and has been awarded and gained recognition several times. In June 2013, he was awarded the prize for outstanding scientific work by the Austrian Bankers' Association (formerly, Walther Kastner Award). Olaf is editor of two renowned Austrian law Journals (wohnrechtliche Blätter - wobl; Zeitschrift für Finanzmarktrecht - ZFR).
